Sightseeing and Guided Tours

While traveling, there are many people who prefer to plan their own vacations. However, one option when planning your vacation is to allow yourself enough time to take a guided tour of the travel destination that you are planning to visit. Whether it's Paris, France, or Munich, Germany, there are millions of sightseeing guided tours that are offered all over the world. These guided tours usually consist of being part of a large tour bus that will actually take you through all of the important stops on your vacation. There are actually a couple types of sightseeing and guided tours also. The first type of guided tour is where the person taking a vacation chooses a tour bus that travels throughout major cities that takes people on bus tours. These bus tours are very enjoyable as guests get to ride in a comfortable tour bus. Along the way to your travel destination the tour bus may stop at major sightseeing points along the way. In the United States, there are thousands of tour buses that take tourists on trips to Washington, DC daily. A couple examples of major sightseeing stops along the way include Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where the Civil War took place. Additionally, Virginia also has important sightseeing stops along the way. This was the home of some very important Presidents and tour buses usually stop in Virginia so that tourists can see where General Lee lived, where battles were fought, and some other major landmarks along the way. The second type of sightseeing and guided tour is the one that is scheduled on your stay in a particular city wherever you are taking your vacation. For example, many tour buses stop at specific hotels and locations and the tour throughout the city commences from that spot. Important city landmarks are pointed out throughout the whole sightseeing tour while on the bus ride. While on this type of sightseeing guided tour the visitors may even have the chance to get out and explore the important landmarks that are visited. If you are going to schedule the first type of guided tour then you pretty much have your whole vacation time planned out for you. These tour guides usually will plan events for the whole day and leave little room for free time. On the other hand, if you are going to schedule the second type of sightseeing guided tour while on your vacation then you will have the most free time. In fact, you'll probably want to schedule other things while on your vacation because these types of sightseeing tour guides usually only last from about 1 hour to 4 to 5 hours. Needless to say, you will have plenty more time on your vacation to enjoy such things as the beach (if you are near the coast), more time to explore shopping malls as well as fine dining opportunities. All in all, sightseeing tour guides are definitely the way to go when you are planning your vacation. Whether you want to have the guided tour as your whole vacation or you want to have plenty of free time while taking a break, many people all over the world enjoy sightseeing tours on all types of major vacations.
